Why Choose TFL?

TFL is dedicated to providing professional anti-corrosion solutions for global industrial clients. Our 6218M/C4VL0241 bearings utilize high-purity imported alumina and advanced plasma-spraying technology, ensuring excellent coating adhesion and thermal stability. As an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, we understand the challenges high-power motors face under heat and heavy loads. By combining machined brass cages with large-clearance engineering, we offer high-cost-performance products that rival premium brands with significantly more flexible lead times.

Features of 6218M/C4VL0241

Common Applications of Electrically Insulated Bearings

TFL 6218M/C4VL0241 is specifically designed for heavy industrial VFD systems with high operating temperatures or significant temperature gradients. Typical applications include roller table motors in metallurgy, high-power hot-smoke exhaust fans, dryer section motors in paper mills, and wind turbine systems in extreme climates. The combination of C4 clearance and a brass cage ensures mechanical safety under harsh thermodynamic conditions.

High-Temperature Industrial Fans

In large VFD-driven exhaust fans from Howden or TLT-Turbo, bearings often experience high temperatures from gas flow. The C4 clearance of TFL 6218M/C4VL0241 absorbs thermal expansion, while the brass cage maintains stability under continuous vibration, effectively replacing SKF INSOCOAT models and eliminating electrical erosion.

Paper & Metallurgy Motors

In Siemens 1LG4 or ABB M3BP motors used in paper dryer sections or steel rolling lines, frequent overloads and high heat can cause standard-clearance bearings to fail. TFL 6218M/C4VL0241’s C4 clearance and 3000V insulation ensure uninterrupted operation in these environments, making it a recommended performance upgrade for mill maintenance.

Wind Turbines

For wind turbine systems deployed in desert or tropical regions (e.g., Vestas or GE platforms), generator bearings must withstand vast temperature fluctuations. TFL 6218M/C4VL0241’s C4 clearance prevents clearance failure between winter starts and summer operations, while the alumina coating significantly reduces electrical erosion maintenance over the turbine’s lifecycle.

Q&A

Why does my motor need C4 clearance instead of the standard C3?

If your motor operates at very high temperatures or has a very tight interference fit on the shaft, C4 clearance provides necessary internal space. Using C3 in these conditions might cause the clearance to disappear due to thermal expansion, leading to excessive friction or seizure.

Is TFL 6218M/C4VL0241’s brass cage more vibration-resistant than a steel cage?

Yes. The machined brass cage offers better damping properties and mechanical strength than a pressed steel cage. In high-vibration fans or heavy-duty motor systems, a brass cage significantly reduces noise and minimizes the risk of failure due to cage fatigue.

Will the ceramic coating lose its insulation properties when the motor heats up?

TFL’s alumina coating has excellent thermal stability. Its dielectric properties do not degrade significantly at industrial operating temperatures of 120°C or higher. Even under extreme conditions, it consistently blocks shaft currents up to 3000V.
